Türkiye ranks first in apple production. It is grown all over Turkey. Apples are considered suitable for fresh consumption. Some of the harvest is sold on the market, and some is stored for a long time in special atmospheric controlled storage facilities. In the last 10 years, apple production has increased with the use of modern orchards and new varieties. Thanks to storage and new varieties, apples can be exported all year round. Top produced apples: Starking, Golden, Gala, Granny Smith, Fuji and Red Chief.
